ABC Jazzy will be featured in the Gadsden, Alabama Story Walk.

I'm excited to announce that ABC Jazzy was chosen as the book of the month for the Gadsden, Alabama Story Walk. The book walk is set up at the Dr. Clarence Underwood Jr. Park.

If you don't know what a book walk is, then I'll tell you. Each page of the book is printed and placed in a holder. Children can walk along the sidewalk and read each page as they go.

Of course, ABC Jazzy is all about the alphabet, so if you have children working on that, then this is perfect for them. The text is simple to read, so it's also great for beginning readers.

Not only can you enjoy the book as you stroll, you can win a prize if you do. All you have to do is read the story on the walk, return to the library, and tell the librarian which letter was your favorite and your name will be entered to win a prize.

I have at least 15 stuffed animals (see picture below) that I used in the book, "Count with Jazzy" that will be given away to the winners. Even the tall penguin needs a new home.

Summertime Challenge - Win Prizes

Jazzy's new book, Counting with Jazzy, is about to be published. In the making of the book, I've acquired a pumpkin, two peacocks, three pigs (well two since Jazzy ate one), four dolls, five chicks, seven penguins and eight dragons. I still have a few other stuffed animals from her Twelve Days of Christmas. One could say I have a surplus of stuffed animals and nobody to give them to.

That's when it hit me, I could use them as prizes. So, for every child that completes the challenges listed in Jazzy's Guide to Summertime Fun, I will send a stuffed animal.

Here are the rules.

1. Please print off a copy of the list of items to complete and check them off as they are completed.

2. I will need photo evidence of each deed or, in the case of the writing, I'll need a copy of the story. You can combine different tasks in the same photo. (Like a picture of a muffin they made next to their leaf collection.)

3. You are allowed to be creative. If you cannot visit a zoo, you can color pictures of different animals and hold them up like you are visiting them. I want to inspire creative thinking.

4. For books they've read, I'll need the names of the books.

And.... GO... You have from now until my birthday on August 12, to complete them.

Old Books & New Books & Library Readings

I read a few stories to three and four-year old's at the Gadsden Library today. I had so much fun and the children seemed happy. The librarian, Hanna Gray, gifted me a beautiful game of pin the tail on Jazzy. It was so much fun watching the little ones play. I will use it with every story hour I participate in.

Jazzy had a long break but we are finally in production mode. Counting with Jazzy is almost complete. I am joined by two friends, Rosa Rodriguez and Meerimai Wolfe who are translating the text into Spanish and Kyrgyz.

Besides putting this new book together, I've been busy reformatting ABC Jazzy and Little Red Jazzyhood. Check them out on Amazon. (Sorry, ABC will be available in two days.)

Meerimai is also translating Little Red Jazzyhood. That project is nearing completion as well.

Any ideas what other Jazzy books I should produce. Perhaps Jazzy's Jobs? ha ha ha.
